Carol and I made it to the airport with 4 bags.
Somehow, I know that each bag needed to be under 50 lbs, but at the last minute, I compacted 5 to 4. As we went to check in, the three bags I wanted to check each weighed 70 lbs! The lady at the counter said that would cost me on overage fee of $150 per bag. So, I went up to the airport store and bought a small dffle bag for $20 and began a reshuffle of contents on the floor in front of the counter. Ten minutes later we had 4 bags to check each weighing 50 lbs.
Our flight on Delta was very nice. Dennis Linnekin was able to get us upgraded to Business Class which was a real treat. We flew into Budapest arriving about 10am local time. Then, we schlepped all our bags from baggage came to a shuttle bus to another terminal to the train platform. The train platform was up and over a walkway. Too many bags that weighed to much in the hot sun.
We took a train to Szeged and then a taxi to the Korona Hotel. Ah, home at last; that is, our new home for a month.
